Parishioners past and present gathered Aug. 11 at St. Alphonse Parish in Viscount, SK, for a joyful celebration to welcome Fr. Daniel Louh, who was recently appointed pastor of parishes at Viscount, Allan, and Colonsay, and to celebrate his 23rd anniversary of ordination as a priest.
Parishioners from Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens parish in Saskatoon — where Louh previously served as pastor — joined those from the Viscount-Allan-Colonsay pastoral region for celebration of Mass at 7 p.m., with music ministry provided in several languages.
The Mass and celebration that followed in the church hall were “alive, meaningful, and full of energy,” said Dennis Will of Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens Francophone Catholic Parish. He noted how during the homily Louh related his personal human journey (with its inevitable challenges and successes) to the readings.

A meal prepared by Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens parishioners was served in the church basement after Mass, with lots of laughter and fellowship. “It was a special event for everyone present,” said Will.
