Media release from the Saskatchewan State Council of the Knights of Columbus
The 103rd Annual State Council Meeting of the Knights of Columbus of Saskatchewan, held in Yorkton, SK, from April 25-27, 2025, was a call for Knights to hold fast to the Catholic principles around which the order was founded 143 years ago.
Under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope” State Deputy Marte Clemente Nogot, the State Executive, and delegates and their families from around the province celebrated the past year’s successes and deliberated on how to better serve the Catholic Church and the community through the Knights of Columbus core principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
The convention theme “Pilgrims of Hope” – which echoes the Catholic Church’s Jubilee 2025 theme – symbolizes for all Knights of Columbus members that they are on a journey together with renewed hope and trust in God’s promises. It also represents a deeper spiritual reflection on the theme of mercy and hope and the principles upon which the order of Catholic men was founded.
Throughout the weekend, delegates had plenty of time to share their stories of faith and good works, as well as to catch up on friendships formed through active involvement in the Knights of Columbus over the years.
Delegates to the convention passed a number of resolutions which included reaffirming State Council Policy-non-monetary and monetary resolutions; felicitations and salutations to the leadership at State and Supreme levels and to bishops and priests; a resolution in recognition of the beatification of Knights of Columbus founder Blessed Michael McGivney; and a resolution supporting maintaining charitable tax status for all religious organizations.
Executive officers of the State Council were elected during the annual gathering, effective July 1, 2025: State Deputy Marte Clemente Nogot of Saskatoon; State Secretary Greg Dozorec of Regina; State Treasurer Keith Byers of Moose Jaw; State Advocate Dale Meier of Saskatoon; State Warden Thomas Schwab of North Battleford; and Past State Deputy Larry Packet of Davidson.
Re-elected State Deputy Marte Nogot in his second term said that the Knights of Columbus will continue the journey of faith, saying that life is not a journey from one place to another, but a journey from ignorance to wisdom. He emphasized the importance of wisdom in our spiritual journeys.

From the opening Mass celebrated by Bishop Michael Smolinski CSsR of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saskatoon, to the Memorial Mass celebrated in memory of deceased brother knights, followed by a farewell luncheon, the 103rd Annual Convention of the Knights of Columbus of Saskatchewan was a great success, holding firm to the principles of the order: charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
The delegates left Yorkton better informed and inspired to go back to their communities and join together to spread the message received in this year’s convention theme as “Pilgrims of Hope.”
