The 104th Saskatchewan Annual State Council Meeting of the Knights of Columbus was held in Saskatoon on April 17-19, 2026.
All the Knights present were called to embrace a lifelong journey of faith, service, and commitment and to hold fast to the Catholic principles around which the Order was founded 144 years ago.
Under the theme “Walking in the Footstep of Faith,” State Deputy Marte Clemente Marquez Nogot, the executive members and delegates and their families from around the province celebrated the past year’s success and deliberated on how to better serve the Church and the community.
Those present again heard how being a Catholic and a Knight is not simply a matter of living day-by-day, but of answering a higher calling: to live with purpose, to serve in charity, and to stand in righteousness with our neighbours and with one another.
“Walking in the Footstep of Faith” means more than admiring the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, those attending the annual Knights of Columbus state convention heard. Rather, it means striving each day to follow Christ’s example with courage and humility and conviction.
“This calls us to live with intention, to persevere with patience, and to face trials of life with steadfast trust in the providence of God. As disciples of Christ, we are invited not only to believe in Him, but to reflect His love, mercy, and grace in the way we live and serve,” affirmed State Deputy Nogot.
Throughout the weekend, delegates had plenty of time to share stories of the faith and good works of the Knights of Columbus, as well as to catch up on friendships formed through active involvement through the years in the Catholic men’s organization.
Delegates to the State Convention passed a number of resolutions which included reaffirming State Council Policy non-monetary and monetary resolutions; felicitations and salutations to the leadership at Supreme and State levels of the organization, to bishops and priests in the province; as well as resolutions in support of Canadian Aid to Persecuted Christians, resolutions in support of family, and resolutions in recognition of the Beatification of Blessed Michael McGivney.
The State Council elected the following executives effective July 1, 2026:
- State Deputy Greg Dozorec of Regina;
- State Secretary Dale Meier of Saskatoon;
- State Treasurer Garth Herbert of Regina;
- State Advocate John Marshall of Saskatoon;
- State Warden Cody Geiger of Moose Jaw.
State Deputy Nogot will become Immediate Past State Deputy after June 30, the end of 2025-2026 fraternal year.
State Deputy-Elect Dozorec also announced the appointment of Fr. Warren Dungen as the new State Chaplain, and Fr. Millan Sajonas as the State Associate Chaplain for 2026-2027 fraternal year, once his own term starts on July 1.

State Deputy Nogot expressed his commitment to a seamless transition of leadership to his successor, and encouraged all of his brother knights to rally behind new State Deputy-Elect Dozorec, and to work together to drive positive change to benefit families, the community, and parishes province-wide, shaping a brighter future for generations to come.

The opening Mass for the state convention was celebrated by Bishop Michael Smolinski, CSsR, of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saskatoon and Msgr. Maurice Fiolleau, Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Prince Albert, SK.
A closing Memorial Mass was celebrated in memory of deceased Knights of Columbus, followed by a farewell luncheon.
The 104th Annual Convention of the Knights of Columbus of Saskatchewan exemplified the principles of the order: charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. Delegates left Saskatoon better informed and inspired to go back to their communities and join together to spread the message they received in the convention theme: “Walking in the Footsteps of Faith.”
