Participants of Project Timothy celebrated the completion of the program with a Commissioning Mass July 9 at the Cathedral of the Holy Family.
These young adults spent the year learning about their charisms, undertaking vocational discernment, growing in spiritual habits for their own personal relationship with God, and experiencing authentic fellowship.
As they reflected on their experience from this past year, it was clear that the program was extremely fruitful:
“A highlight for me this year was our vocational retreat. I saw my own story echoed in the presentations of some of the speakers, and was very encouraged for my future.”
“Project Timothy was exactly what I needed as I look to enter adulthood. This year, I’m going to not just be a passive participant, but look to be an active leader in my parish.”
“When I came back to Saskatoon, I struggled to find Catholic community. Project Timothy was an answer to prayer, and filled that need that I was looking for. Going forward, I hope to be that answer to prayer for other people as I seek to build that level of community with others in my parish.”
Launched in 2021 in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon, Project Timothy is a mentorship and formation program for young adults, supported by the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, and coordinated by diocesan Evangelization and Mission Leader John Hickey and Sr. Marta Piano of the Verbum Dei Missionary Fraternity. Recruitment is now underway for the 2024-25 program. For more information email John Hickey at jhickey@rcdos.ca or call (306) 659-5847.
