CWL members invited to legislature for passage of Human Trafficking Protection Act

In recognition of their advocacy, Saskatoon and Regina Catholic Women’s League members were invited by the Saskatchewan Minister of Justice, Bronwyn Eyre, to attend the legislature when The Human Trafficking Protection (Coerced Debts) Amendment Act was brought into force.

Eyre rose in the house to introduce each member by name, speaking about the work the CWL is doing to raise awareness about human trafficking.  Eyre also recognized the support given by the CWL to Hope Restored Canada, and the IWIN backpack program, which provides backpacks to support. human trafficking survivors.

Lisa Lambert, MLA for Churchill-Wildwood and Nicole Sarauer, MLA for Regina-Douglas Park, also both rose to acknowledge the vital role of the CWL.
