Installations of pastors continue across diocese

Bishop Mark Hagemoen joined St. Augustine Parish in Humboldt, SK, on April 30, 2022 to celebrate the Eucharist and offer special prayers to officially install Fr. Colin Roy as pastor of the parishes at Humboldt, Burr and Pilger, SK.
Ordained in June 2013 in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon, Fr. Colin Roy was serving as pastor at the parishes in Cudworth, Middle Lake and St. Benedict when he was appointed to the Humboldt-area cluster of parishes in the summer of 2021.
The installation prayers offer an opportunity to reflect prayerfully on the role of the pastor, highlighting the priest’s sacramental ministry through a series of prayers at different spots throughout the church building: the altar, the ambo, the tabernacle, the baptismal font, the entrance of the church, etc.
“This isn’t a required ritual, but it is something that is an option, and we have chosen to do that because of its simple but rich symbolism about the relationship of the pastor — the priest — with the people of God,” explains Bishop Hagemoen.
The installation of the pastor for Humboldt, Burr and Pilger is the latest in a series of celebrations that Hagemoen is undertaking across the diocese (see photos and links, below)
