Commissioning of the Class of 2019 was held May 17-18 at St. Therese Institute of Faith and Mission in Bruno, Sk.
Commissioning consists of a blessing of the students by the Bishop the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon, as a sacred gesture upon the completion of the Nine Month Faith Formation Program of St. Therese Institute’s School of Faith and Mission. “Students are ‘sent out’ to carry the Gospel into the marketplace of their lives.” Following the blessing during celebration of the Eucharist with Bishop Mark Hagemoen May 18, the students were presented with a Diploma of Catholic Studies for the Lay Apostolate.
The program began the evening before on Friday, May 17 with Eucharistic Adoration and Praise and Worship at St. Bruno Parish, Bruno, SK, followed by a Dessert Social at St. Therese Institute.
The commissioning Mass was held 2 p.m. May 18 at St. Bruno Parish with Bishop Mark Hagemoen: Homily at Commissioning Mass
Mass was followed by a banquet, program and a family dance.
