Among the noteworthy anniversaries celebrated by Ursulines this summer in Saskatoon was the 85th anniversary of religious profession of vows by Sr. Brigitta Haag, OSU, who is 103 years old.

“Aug. 15 is the day that most of us made our profession of vows, and this year some of us (including Sr. Brigitta) were able to gather to celebrate with a special Mass followed by a tea at St. Angela Merici Residence,”  reported Sr. Anne Lewans.

Sr. Brigitta Haag was born the same year the Ursulines of Prelate arrived on the Canadian prairies from Germany. She entered the Ursuline order when she was 16.

“I have no regrets. I taught  elementary grades in country schools for 30 years. It was a real loving community experience,” she said in an interview with the Catholic Register in 2019.
