The St. Bruno Parish community in Bruno, SK set out to provide an Easter surprise for pastor Fr. Pius Schroh.

“Fr. Pius would often tell us how his dream was to have 40 altar servers for Mass someday,” explained parishioner Denise Montpetit of Cat.Chat Productions. Parishioners decided to make the dream come true — with the long line of servers surprising the parish priest in the opening procession on Easter morning.

The effort took a bit of organization, including contacting other parishes in the surrounding area to borrow extra vestments for the servers.

“Primarily, the youth in the parish made it happen and surprised him on Easter Sunday with over 40 altar servers,” she said. “Fr. Pius was super surprised and incredibly blessed; what a joy- filled Mass!”
