A new working group has been established in the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saskatoon, dedicated to addressing ways to assist with the humanitarian crisis occurring in Ukraine.

Entitled “Response by Eparchy of Saskatoon to Crisis in Ukraine” or RESCU, the new group will organize and take action to assist the people of Ukraine affected and displaced by the war, said RESCU Chair Fr. Janko Kolosnjaji in a message to the eparchy March 16. This will include assistance through spiritual, financial and educational means, he said.

“After receiving many calls to our parishes and Chancery Office, we want to reiterate that the best help that the faithful of the Eparchy can give is through financial support to humanitarian aide organizations, of which we highly promote the Catholic Near-East Welfare Association of Canada (CNEWA),” he said.

Send donations directly to CNEWA online at cnewa.org/ca/campaigns/Ukraine or call: 1-866-322-4441 or mail a cheque to: CNEWA Canada, 223 Main Street, Box 80, Ottawa, ON. K1S 1C4.
