Fox Valley CWL celebrates 70th anniversary

In 1951, 35 women met for the purpose of organizing the first Catholic Women’s League CWL) council for St. Mary Parish, Fox Valley, SK, which at that time was in the Diocese of Gravelbourg (Fox Valley 2004 history book, Volume 1, p. 114). The parish became part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon in 1998.

To mark the 70th anniversary of the CWL at St. Mary, Fox Valley, members were blessed during a special Mass celebrated Dec. 5, 2021 by Fr. Francis Appiah Kubi. CWL members stood to recite a renewal prayer led by President Shirley Greenwald and also celebrated members who have served (from 10 to 40 years) “for God and Canada.”
