As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “See, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way; the voice of one crying out in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight”  – Mark 1:2-3

Scratched, cracked, chipped, and broken, most of us can connect these words to the experience of failed relationships.

The hurt is real, the loss is real, and sometimes it is pretty hard to see the pain as anything but pain.  It is difficult but not impossible to embrace these experiences as a gift.

Within our pain we can discover a longing that goes well past a desire for relief.  We want what our faith promises us, the fullness of life.  Hardship is not necessarily a barrier to this fullness; it can be a voice in the desert announcing Good News.
