National Indigenous Day in Saskatoon includes “Rock Your Roots” Reconciliation Walk

[Catholic Saskatoon News} – Hundreds participated in the annual “Rock Your Roots” Walk for Reconciliation held in Saskatoon as part of National Indigenous People’s Day celebrations.

Participants included many school groups and representatives of a range of community organizations, including the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon.

The schedule for the National Indigenous People’s Day celebration at Victoria Park included:

  • 7:00 am Pipe Ceremony
  • 9:00 am Grand Entry
  • 9:30 am “Rock Your Roots” Reconciliation Walk
  • 11:30 am Dignitary Speeches
  • 12:00 pm Lunch
  • 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm Entertainment
